Ana Paula Ferez, Country Consultant

Ana Paula joined GCF Task Force to work for the 2050 Deep Decarbonization Pathways in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. She has been working in the Amazon region since 2012 as a researcher and carbon analyst in the design and monitoring of forest carbon projects and jurisdictional REDD+ programs within private and non-governmental institutions. Her experience is working with applied research on initiatives that generate significant and measurable environmental benefits and services, looking for improved outcomes from climate change mitigation strategies. In Mato Grosso State, her experience is focused on generating strategic information to support the development of climate policies to subsidize the decision making of public actors, as well as facilitating processes in the coordination of working groups on technical tools for REDD+ framework planning at subnational level. She has a MsC. in Silviculture and Forest Management and a Bachelor's degree in Forest Engineering—both from the University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP) with expertise in carbon and forest biomass estimates and land use change emissions inventory.
