Important notification to GCF Task Force members and partners regarding the dates of our Annual Meeting in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil.
After careful consideration and monitoring of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force and the Government of Amazonas have decided to postpone our Annual Meeting in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. This decision was informed first and foremost by our utmost concern for the health and security of our governors, del-egates, and partners, as well as by guidance provided by the World Health Organization and other organizations that are taking similar measures to contain the spread of COVID-19. Thus, the meeting originally scheduled for May 4–7th will be rescheduled for
September 1–3rd, 2020 in Manaus.
The GCF Task Force Secretariat and the Government of Amazonas will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation and corresponding travel advisories in the coming months and will make every effort to ensure the health and security of Annual Meeting participants while advancing our global and regional work.
We hope that the difficult decision to postpone our Annual Meeting will be received with the understanding that we are taking appropriate measures to protect the wellbeing of our members and partners by reducing their potential risk to COVID-19 exposure and associated travel restrictions. All of us at the GCF Task Force greatly appreciate your understanding and look forward to an enriching and momentous Annual Meeting in Manaus in September.
