Statement from Colleen Colleen Scanlan-Lyons, Project Director of the Governors’ Climate and Forest Task Force (GCF) on the protest actions conducted by RISE Against Climate Capitalism and other groups during  GCF’s Annual Meeting in San Francisco:

“We welcome constructive criticism and diverse perspectives and firmly believe that successful efforts to address climate change must be collaborative and inclusive. However, we urge everyone to respect the dialogue happening today between indigenous and community leaders, key stakeholders, and government representatives. While by no means perfect, this collaboration is a step in the right direction to protect forests, reduce emissions, and mitigate the negative effects of climate change.”
