Since 2006, Floriberto has worked in civil society as an Environmental and Community Development Consultant, supporting municipal and agricultural authorities in different sustainable development projects. In the Government of the state of Oaxaca, he has been a mediator and conciliator for impact projects, and recently in the area of climate change he has promoted projects including women and men from indigenous communities, as well as accompanied the management of international funds. Within the State Government, he has generated an inter-institutional agenda on sustainable rural development and projects with criteria for mitigation and adaptation to Climate Change. Floriberto received the National Prize for Indigenous Youth in the Environment 2008. He is of Zapotec indigenous origin from Oaxaca.
